Stalin was one of most powerful and murderous dictators in history, Stalin was the ruler of the Soviet Union . He caused the death and suffering of tens of millions of people.The five year plan was a plan that would turn the country into a major industrial power with in five years.

The Russian people wanted to change to communism because they were hungry and mistreated. In the film Doctor Zhivago they show comunism as equal for everyone. Everyone had to get the same of everything. When the doctor came back he had to live with more people in his house then before families nmoved in. The doctor tought communism was fair but he didint like it because before he was rich and with comunism he was the same as everyone else.

Causes of WW I

The primary causes of the war were nationalism mitiralism and the assasination of Archduke Francis.Trough nationalism people didint want to be ruled by other countries. Nationalistic speeches and writings hastened the war by painting it as the best test for proof of national superiority it turned Frenchman against German and Russian against Austrian.When Archduke Francis of Austria was assassinated a month later, the war started.
Germany stood back of Austria's actions, while Russia stepped forward to defend it small Balkan friend. As the world looked on, Europe was into war almost overnight.

The Opium wars where between the Brithish and the Chinese. The chinese didint want to trade with anyone or open their ports for trade. The British wanted to trade with the chinese so they tough of a drug that the chinese people coudent resist this was Opium. nearly 2 million pounds of opium were being sold in China each year, opium weakened a large amount of the Chinese population. In the 19th century, 10 percent of the Chinese population was smoking opium. This also affected China economically.The goverment in china discovered the British smuggling opium into China to sellit in 1838 that efforts to restrict the opium trade were taken they lead an anti-opium campaign Lin wrote a letter to Queen Victoria of England arguing that if the opium was so harmful in its effects that Britain had made opium trading and consumption illegal in England, then why was England exporting such harmful products to other countries. 1840, British gunboats arrived and attacked China, destroying many coastal cities. This was known as the First Opium War the British won because they had much larger boats then the chinese.

The White Man's Burden is to undermine imperialism.The poem is mostly saying that the white men should civilize the world.They thought it was their duty to go and force people their ways of civilization, to be proper civilized people.I think today the U.S is impearistic because they try to make people do things example in iraq.I dont agree with the White mans Burden because i think that people shoudent try to take over other people and tell them how to live.

The Scramble for Africa began in 1881 it was when the Everyone wanted to get land from africa and the resources.The main European nations that were involved in this scramble was France, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Portugal.These nations were looking in Africa for natural resources like petroulium and minerls, They were able to dominate Africa so easy because they had guns and were more advanced than. this effected the Africans because they put differnt tribes together and sometimes enemies were put togther this caused alot of violence among the Africans. The Europeans didn't care because they were getting what they wanted

In the film some of the hardships that Europeans faced as they explored Africa was the weather. The hot weather of African desserts. Another hardship that the Europeans also faced was the lack of food many of the people took the food with them leaving a liltle bit to the explorers. And another one that afected the Europeans was the bugs there were many bugs with malaria or many dissieses. The thirds world largest river is the source of the Nile it was named Victoria because of the queen of England Victoria.The primary technological advantage that Europeans had over African people was guns.The africans hadent seen the guns before so that was an advantage over them this also made them to be able to conquer Africa more easily

Japan is an archipelago and archipelago is a chain of Islands. Mathew Perry "bullied" the Japanese into signing the trade treaty by forcing them to let them in or else they would have to use force.The Japanese knew of western aggression in other parts of Asia so after a period of debate among Japanese leaders they decided to sign the treaty.Mathew Perry had big ships that impresed the Japanese. Emperor Meiji transformed the country from a feudal into a modern state.The Japanese economy changed during the mejii era. They also became more modernarize they wanted to follow western ideas. Emperor Mutsushito took back his thrown. He believed that the only way to be equal in economic and political ways of the West was to adopt new ideas. Many scholars were sent to the West. They were sent to learn as much from the West .The Japanese began to modernize by adopting the ideas of industrialization, began to build railroads for the use transportation. also to build factories to produce goods for trading.

What is communism?
According to Mark communism is that everyone gets the same for example everone gets payed the same and everyone gets just wat they need.Karl Marks wanted that the proletariat or the working class to start a revolution and not have to depend on the bourgeoisie or the owner class. His ideas all about commusim were that the government would own all property and everyone would be paid the same, according to Marx, this would end Industrialization and Capitalism. Countries eventually tried his ideas but it failed. The "bad" ones in this case to Mark were the Proletariat, the owner class and the "good" ones

Karl Mark And The Industrial Revolution

Karl Marx was born a German Jew in 1818.He lived during the Industrial Revolution and he didint like it. He didn't like the image of the low class being trampled by the rich factory owners. This led him to think of a new form of government called Communism. Communism was that everyone got equal of everything that everybody got payed the same he also had the idea that the workers , his ideas of the indutrial revolution were that the company owners were gona get richer and that the workers were never going to succeed.He did not like how the industrial revoulition was turning out because he felt like the workers were bein sold. He also didint like the Industrial Revolution because workers became "an appendage to a machine", as they worked. Marx saw the Industrial Revolution as a poor system, He believed that since there were way more workers than owners the workers would eventually get fed up, start a revolution and take over. In fact, Marx encouraged workers to start a revolution.

His victories over the Spaniards won independence for Bolivia, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela., then he oranizedThe republic o columbia. Simon Bolivar was fighting for independence of South America. Simon was influenced by the Americas and the Europeans because he saw how they were geting rid of their kingsand gaining independe.Simon Bolivar was married to Maria Teresa Rodríguez but after she died he traveled to Europe and he spent most of his time in the studies of Rousseau ,Locke, and Voltaire and at the same time admiring the work of Napoleon Bonaparte.
